What You'll Be Doing

Own the Numbers

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Review month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Perform detailed variance analysis and provide meaningful commentary.
• Support group reporting and consolidation processes.
• Ensure reporting deadlines are met accurately and on time.

Keep the Balance Sheet Healthy

• Manage complex balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
• Investigate and resolve unusual variances and reconciling items.

Navigate the World of Inventory & Distribution

• Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
• Manage inventory reconciliations, landed costs, and goods-in-transit reporting.
• Support foreign currency transactions and Forex accounting.
• Ensure inventory reporting complies with accounting standards and business policies.

Tax, Compliance & Audit

• Prepare VAT calculations and reconciliations.
• Assist with tax submissions and statutory reporting.
• Support annual audits and financial statement preparation.
• Work closely with auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.

Drive Better Business Decisions

• Analyse financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
• Work alongside Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting, and efficiencies.
• Participate in finance automation and process improvement projects.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

• CA(SA), SAIPA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles advantageous.
• BCom Accounting, Finance, or related qualification.

Experience

• 3-5 years' experience in a Financial Accountant role.
• Strong experience preparing management accounts.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Exposure to Power BI, SQL, or reporting tools would be advantageous.
• Experience within distribution, importing, FMCG, retail, manufacturing, or supply chain environments is highly desirable.
