Job Summary
Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for overseeing core accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information. The role covers end‑to‑end involvement in monthly reporting, budget management, reconciliations, and audit support, while also providing guidance and oversight to finance staff.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage creditors, banking, funds, fixed assets, and payroll functions
Prepare accurate monthly financial and management reports, including detailed variance analysis
Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing budget control
Assist with the preparation of year‑end financial statements
Provide support during internal and external audit engagements
Draft, review, and maintain financial policies and procedures
Address and resolve finance‑related queries across the business
Contribute to ad‑hoc financial projects as required
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5+ years’ experience
Strong experience in full‑function accounting and financial reporting
Proven ability to prepare accurate monthly management accounts and variance analyses
Experience supporting internal and external audit processes
Sound knowledge of balance sheet, income statement, and payroll reconciliations
Strong people management or supervisory capability
High attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders
Qualification:
Finance Degree
SAICA, CIMA, or ACCA - advantageous
