Our client is a well-established organisation operating within a technical and industrial environment, seeking an experienced Financial Manager to take ownership of the full finance function. This role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, tax, budgeting, costing, cash flow management, and business operations, making it ideal for a finance professional who enjoys variety and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Manage the full accounting function from source documents through to trial balance.
• Prepare and process monthly journals, including depreciation, payroll, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial records.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Compile annual financial statements and support external audit requirements.

Taxation & Compliance

• Prepare and review VAT calculations and reconciliations.
• Manage corporate income tax calculations and submissions.
• Administer all SARS eFiling requirements and liaise directly with SARS on queries.
• Prepare and submit EMP201, EMP501, IT14 returns, and related statutory documentation.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

• Manage cash books, banking activities, and payment processes.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow requirements.
• Manage company loan accounts and intercompany balances.
• Support effective working capital management across the business.

Costing, Budgeting & Forecasting

• Prepare project-based costing reports and analyse project profitability.
• Develop and maintain costing methodologies and reporting frameworks.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Provide profitability analysis and financial insights to support operational decision-making.

Financial Control & Business Support

• Manage debtors and creditors control accounts and reconciliations.
• Oversee fixed asset registers and insurance portfolio administration.
• Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance processes.
• Support management through accurate reporting and commercial analysis.
• Contribute to business improvement initiatives and operational efficiency projects.

Requirements

Qualifications

• BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance (essential).
• Membership of SAIPA or SAICA.
• Costing experience will be advantageous.

Experience

• 3-5 years' experience in Financial Management.
• Strong experience across the full accounting function.
• Exposure to financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and management accounting.
• Experience within a project-driven, industrial, engineering, or manufacturing environment will be advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with SYSPRO will be beneficial.
• Strong financial reporting and accounting knowledge.
• Sound understanding of taxation, VAT, and statutory compliance.
• Strong costing and project accounting capabilities.
