Overview

This opportunity is ideal for a candidate either seeking a full day or part-time Financial Accountant role within that current salary range, in an established FMCG manufacturing environment, providing products to both local and international clients. This role is located near the Cape Town International Airport.

Applicants should ideally have previous experience in the FMCG manufacturing space.

Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of an Accountant (SAIPA) or (SAICA) or AGA(SA) required.

At least five years working experience in finance

Proven track record at a senior financial level in manufacturing or FMCG environment (food manufacturing highly advantageous)

Ability to manage and develop staff in a participative, consultative manner

Strong financial management skills

The ability to provide financial information for strategic business decisions

The ability to implement accounting standards and accepted business practices in financial reporting

The ability to produce and deliver accessible and informative financial reports on tight deadlines

Computer literacy with strong Excel skills is essential

Knowledge of XERO, DEAR and SimplePay systems highly advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities:

Management and supervision of accounts department

Input, processing, and management of General Ledger function

Computation of VAT, Tax, PAYE, and submission to tax authorities

Production, reconciliation, and analysis of monthly management accounts, including detailed analysis and critical point summary

Reconciliation of loan accounts

Stock count valuation report

Fixed Asset Register and monthly depreciation

Current asset management, including debtor’s collections

Foreign Currency Revaluation

Ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled

Preparing and managing of all financial audits

Producing annual budgets and forecasts

Cash flow management

Sales reports

Monthly payroll processing, bi-annual filings and IRP5 EMP501 submissions.

Managing incoming funds and CFC accounts for exports

Accountability and administration of XERO, DEAR and SimplePay systems.  (Financial, inventory and payroll systems)

Planning, structuring, and executing annual EE Plans and lead EE audit to ensure compliance

Ethnical committee assistance and leading of projects to ensure audit compliance

International company structure setup, VAT registration and forex calculations

Credit recon reviews and approval of supplier accounts

Procurement review and approval of orders

Maintain and build relationships with key suppliers

DTI claims processing

Ensuring international tax compliance – Amazon, other sales and purchases

Managing bank accounts and clearing funds (includes payment gateways and international bank accounts)

Management of the financial aspects of Key Account Cost Accounting

These individuals will be given a small portfolio of business that they will be required to service from day one whilst growing that portfolio with quality business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promotes sales in liaison with brokers and financial institution's leads and services
  brokers.
• Receives requests for quotations from clients and provides a packaged solution
  based on client needs.
• Actively promotes company products.
• Profitable Growth in Insurance New Business Sales by promoting and selling Insurance
  Solutions.
• Explaining and structuring customized insurance options.
• Supporting customers in their completion of insurance application information
  requirements e.g. financial needs analysis and proposal forms.
• Notifying customers regarding the insurance requirements on loan facilities such

• Cancellations - Process Endorsement as required by the client.

• Full and accurate broking submissions to insurers.
• General Service Standards (100% acknowledgment of requests within 24 hours,
  100% delivery on commitments made).
• Adherence to all compulsory training and forums, submission of documents and
  forms required.
• Maintain a minimum of 95% accuracy score from the Quality Assurance audits
  and timeous adherence to the remedial actions required therefrom.

Required Experience:

• A minimum of 5-10 years previous working experience in Short term insurance is
  preferable to gain practical exposure to banking principles and to establish credible
  relationships.
• Must be fully FAIS Compliant
• Regulatory Exam Certificate (RE5)
• Registered FSP Representative (Category 1 and Sub-Category 1.2 and 1.6)
• Fit and Proper as determined by FAIS legislation (Honesty, Integrity and Financial
  Solvency)

The candidate should preferably be a CA(SA) but suitable and experienced AGA(SA)’s and PA(SA)’s will also be considered. Strong tax knowledge and experience in managing SAICA trainees are required.

The audit manager will be in charge of managing (including billing) a client portfolio consisting of individual taxpayers, companies, close corporations and trusts. This will mostly entail:

• Audits (Corporate audits, Estate Agent audits, Attorney Trust audits, Body Corporate audits)
• Independent Reviews
• Compilation of financial statements
• Consulting
• Management of staff members, mainly SAICA trainees

• Propose and finalise audit opinions.
• Audit assignment budget planning and management.
• Monitoring and evaluation of performance in relation to budget.
