Job Summary
Our Belgian client, a rapidly growing provider of pallet racking and shelving systems as well as robotics-driven warehouse automation and storage solutions, is looking to appoint a Project Engineer to work remotely from their Stellenbosch office.
Project Engineers supports the foreign departments and is responsible for the projects assigned to them. This includes developing cost estimates, designs, and optimal warehouse layouts.
The Project Engineer also serves as a liaison between the Senior Project Engineer, company subsidiaries, and the Work Preparation team.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Warehouse lay outing to optimum capacity/cost price and according to product specifications
- Stability calculations according to the current safety and stability standards, valid for the country concerned (assisted by Senior Project or Static Engineer)
- Calculates the composition of components and calculates a correct quotation price on that basis. A complete technical description must also be prepared
- In consultation with your manager, you determine the priorities for files in order to meet the deadlines for drawing up quotations in the department
- Keeps up to date with the evolution of the market in terms of products and customer requirements
- Communication with suppliers is limited to the technical concept. Price discussions take place via the purchasing department
- Technical support to sales in terms of technical presentation of the project
Wanted experience
3 to 5 years of experience
Qualifications
- Master or Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural) from a recognised university
