Job Profile / Skills
The successful incumbent will be responsible for the design of predominantly structural related work. Other key responsibilities will include, inter alia:
Completion of technical designs.
Compilation of tender documentation in various formats.
Management of projects and technical teams.
Leading projects in terms of overall project management.
Mentorship of junior technical staff in terms of design & engineering practices
Keeping up to date with software and design tools to assist with design
Must be able to lead projects and manage other team members.
Must have good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
A valid driver’s licence is essential.
Must be prepared to work in the field
Qualifications
Minimum of BSc / B Eng Civil Engineering
Must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng)
Experience
Must have a minimum of 8 years relevant post-graduation experience in a consulting engineering environment including design, and contract documentation.
Experience in bridge, seismic and temporary works design would be an advantage.
Must have a thorough working knowledge of relevant design codes. Experience with international design codes would be an advantage.
Must be competent with modern structural analysis, design and drawing software, including AutoDesk products, Prokon, MS Office and MS Project.
