CNC Setter | Precision Turning & Milling in a High-Volume Production Environment
Job Description
Are you an experienced CNC Setter who is confident working across both turning and milling machines and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality components?
We are looking for skilled CNC Setters to join an established precision engineering operation with a well-equipped workshop and consistent production workflow. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands CNC machining beyond simply operating the machine — you need to be comfortable setting machines, changing tooling and offsets, reading technical drawings and understanding basic G-code.
You will be responsible for:
Setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines for production.
Preparing tooling, fixtures and machine setups.
Performing tool changes and adjusting offsets.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications.
Reading and understanding basic G-code and machine programs.
Monitoring production and conducting dimensional and quality checks.
Maintaining tight tolerances and high levels of accuracy.
Troubleshooting machining and setup issues to minimise downtime.
Making setup adjustments to maintain consistent production quality.
Supporting continuous improvement within the machining environment.
Requirements
Matric is required.
Proven experience as a CNC Setter within a production environment.
Experience setting and operating both CNC turning and milling machines.
Experience within a high-volume production environment.
Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings.
Strong understanding of tooling, tool changes and offsets.
Able to read and understand basic G-code / CNC machine programs.
Ability to edit CNC programs would be advantageous.
Experience with Fanuc controls would be advantageous.
Exposure to Doosan, Puma or Haas machines, particularly machines with live tooling / mill-turn capabilities, would be beneficial.
Able to work accurately to tight tolerances and maintain high quality standards.
Trade qualification in Fitting & Turning or Millwright would be advantageous.
Hourly rate: R90.00 per hour.
Night Shift Allowance applicable.

Day and night shift opportunities:
Night Shift: Monday to Thursday, 19:00 – 05:30.
Day Shift: Monday to Thursday, 07:00 – 16:00 and Friday, 07:00 – 13:00.
