Job Purpose
The Level 1 QC Inspector (Painting) is responsible for inspecting painted surfaces and coatings to ensure they meet required quality standards, specifications, and customer expectations. The role supports production by identifying defects early and ensuring compliance with painting and finishing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect painted components and surfaces for defects such as runs, sags, scratches, uneven coating, and contamination
- Verify paint thickness, adhesion, and finish quality according to specifications
- Ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation
- Report non-conformances and assist in corrective actions
- Work closely with production teams to improve painting quality
- Ensure proper handling and storage of painted products to prevent damage
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
Minimum Requirements
Education: Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role. Experience in industrial or automotive painting preferred
Skills: Basic understanding of painting processes and surface preparation, ability to identify visual defects in painted finishes, good attention to detail, basic measurement and inspection skills, ability to complete reports accurately
