Requirements
- Valid forklift license (essential).
- 1–2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of production machinery.
- Ability to read instructions, follow procedures, and work under pressure.
- Physically fit; able to lift, load, and handle materials safely.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and weekends if required
- Experience operating presses, rewinders, or similar machinery.
- Exposure to MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) environments.
- Basic mechanical tools knowledge.
Duties
- Machine Operation
- Operate presses, rewinders, and other production equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform basic machine setup, adjustments, and safety checks before and during operation.
- Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities to the supervisor or fitter.
- Ensure proper changeover procedures when switching moulds or product specifications.
- Maintenance Support
- Assist the qualified fitter with repairs, maintenance, and mechanical tasks.
- Prepare and hand over tools, parts, and equipment needed during maintenance work.
- Support breakdown recovery by safely handling components and following instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the maintenance and machine areas.
- Material Handling
- Load raw materials (e.g., aluminium foil rolls) onto presses, rewinders, and other machinery.
- Safely transport materials, pallets, and tooling using a forklift (valid license required).
- Assist with inventory counts of materials, tools, and spare parts.
- Ensure all materials are stored safely and in designated locations
- Production & Quality
- Follow production plans and meet daily output targets.
- Conduct basic visual quality checks on products and materials.
- Report any defects, deviations, or equipment issues immediately.
- Safety & Compliance
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Use PPE and follow machine lockout/tag-out procedures when required.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times.
- Understand and follow company policies and standard operating procedures.
