• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to prepare reports and logs.
• Good knowledge of Process flow.

• Must be qualified and hold a Trade Certificate: Diesel Mechanic/Earth Moving Mechanic.
• At least 8 years of experience in a similar environment (opencast mining/construction/earthworks) specialising in heavy earthmoving equipment, but not limited to Caterpillar, Volvo and BELL.
• Valid contactable references must be made available.

• To ensure that all the relevant pre-start checklists are carried out by the relevant operator on a daily basis.
• Ensure that the relevant maintenance procedures are adhered to.
• Monitoring of equipment availabilities on a daily basis.
• Carry out relevant services on the respective plant items.
• Diagnose problems from electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
• Minimise plant downtime and treat downtime with a sense of urgency.
• Ensuring that the Company’s preventative maintenance systems are adhered to.
• Fault finding and repairs of machines.
