A leading fashion and lifestyle company is looking for an experienced Fashion Accessories Buyer with strong experience in buying and product development across fashion, accessories, beauty, and kids’ categories to join their team in Sandton, GP. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for trends, strong commercial acumen, and proven ability to manage supplier relationships while ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets are met. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver trend-driven, commercially successful product ranges. Immediate placement required.
Responsibilities:
Research and identify upcoming fashion trends, colours, materials, and motifs relevant to local and export markets.
Develop and maintain seasonal range plans in collaboration with design, sales, and planning teams.
Brief and manage product development with international suppliers to ensure quality, on-brand execution, and price competitiveness.
Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to maintain a leading market position.
Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.
Track order progress and collaborate with import and merchandising teams.
Analyse sales and stock performance to identify opportunities and address underperforming items.
Partner with retail buyers and category managers to optimise assortments and drive sales.
Align products with marketing and promotional strategies.
Present product performance insights and future buying recommendations in sales meetings.
Provide product knowledge support to internal teams and ensure consistent brand representation.
Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Fashion Buying, Retail Management, or Business.
3–5 years’ experience in buying or product development within fashion, accessories, or kidswear.
Exposure to FMCG or mass retail environments beneficial.
Experience working with international suppliers (China/Far East preferred).
Strong trend forecasting and product development skills.
Commercially astute with excellent numerical and analytical abilities.
Advanced Excel and reporting skills (pivot tables, costing, and sales tracking).
Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
Creative eye for design, colour, and packaging.
Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
