Job Ref: VC0252 Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Area: Engineering Department Position Type: Full-Time Weekly Hours: 40 Hours Time Conditions: Day Shift Salary: R28,000 - R57,000 Closing Date: 29 April 2022 Purpose of Position The Quantity Surveyor will work with the property development team and will be involved in the refurbishment and fit out of existing buildings. Key Role Responsibilities: • Initiate claims, correctly documented and referenced to the conditions of contract • Ensure variation orders, site instructions, day work’s and increased cost claims are included in interim valuations and filed for record keeping • Ensure Contract Price Adjustments entitlements are claimed from the Clients and paid to the Sub-Contractors as per the contract conditions • Initiate claim register, update them and action items • Assess and certify Sub-Contractors payment certificates • Submit and manage payment certificate process with the Client • Ensure Project Accountant has captured and invoiced Clients as per the payment certificates • Ensure daily diaries are kept clean and are of good quality • Measure and pre-measure the principal quantities of work to be done Minimum Requirements • Matric/Grade 12 with tertiary qualification as B-tech in Quantity Surveying or similar • At least 5-7 years in the Engineering/Construction Industry • Must be computer literate in MS Office • Must have a driver’s license
