PROJECTS/CONTRACTS MANAGER (Drywall | Ceilings | Partitioning | Interior Finishes) – EAST LONDON

” Our client needs someone who understands finishing work in detail and can manage its execution on site. General project management experience without strong, practical finishing experience will not be sufficient for this position. Strong experience in commercial construction, tenant installations (TI), retail, warehouses, offices or similar projects will be advantageous”

Must have substantial hands-on experience in the construction and interior finishing environment, including:

1. Finishing expertise: Proven experience managing drywall, ceilings, partitioning, painting and related finishes.

2. Practical site knowledge: Ability to assess workmanship, resolve finishing defects and coordinate trades.

3. Quantity and costing ability: Can independently measure, calculate quantities, prepare take-offs and check BOQs.

4. Commercial management: Can control subcontractors, costs, variations, procurement and contractual risks.

5. Delivery and accountability: Can drive finishing works to completion, manage snagging and achieve handover deadlines.

6. Valid Code 08 Drivers license

7. A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building, Project Management or a related field will be advantageous.

8. Relevant industry experience and proven project delivery capability will also be considered.

Other relevant skills;

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

• Complete accurate take-offs independently.

• Understand quantities, dimensions and material requirements.

• Develop and interrogate BOQs and scopes of work.

• Assess subcontractor quotations.

• Understand construction methodologies and sequencing.

• Manage multiple subcontractors and trades.

• Identify potential cost overruns and programme delays.

• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.

Salary – Negotiable based on experience
