Job Summary
- Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF4)
- Tertiary qualification in BSC construction management and or BTech Building Science will be advantageous
- Section 13 Trade Certificate or Sect 26 or 28 with modules
- Minimum 5 years Mining industry experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Construction / Site Manager
- Construction experience with SMPP (Steel, Mechanical, Piping and Plate work construction)
- Ability to compile Method statement and Risk Assessment
- Ability to conduct Rigging Study
- Piping Installation experience will be advantageous
- Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings
- Valid Medical certificate of Fitness (BMI less than 30)
- Valid First aid Certificate
- Computer literacy (MS Project, Bisight Viewer, AutoCAD Viewer)
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for MHSA on site and implementation of the MHSA and Project Execution Plans.
- Ensure execution of the Construction tasks/activities in accordance to design and specification in time
- Working collaboratively with the end Client and key stakeholders
- Ensure all resources undergo safety inductions on site and the necessary PPE provided as required
- Attended daily/weekly project meetings with the Client Construction Manager to provide feedback on progress and to provide feedback to the team
- Meet weekly with the Project Manager and project team to discuss the progress and report on site progress/ risks/concerns
- Set performance targets for direct reports and discuss and monitor performance.
- Ensure leadership and motivation by establishing an open and transparent communication process
- Good communication skills in English
