Job Summary
Quarry/ Mining Manager needed in Bronkhorstspruit.
Degree/ Diploma in Mining Engineering.
Opencast Blasting Certificate (Recommended).
Mine Overseer Certificate (Recommended).
Competency A Certificate.
Legal Appointment 31(a).
Valid Driver’s License & Own Vehicle.
All Documents MUST be included with CV.
5 years’ experience in an open pit mining environment AND 5 years Management/Supervisory experience.
Open cast mining experience
Experience managing a mining contractor.
Ensure Health and Safety Systems are in place.
Ensure contractor’s and own production targets are met.
Ensure dispatch of products are performed properly.
Ensure conditions of the roads are maintained & in good order.
Ensure proper relationships & communication is maintained on the site.
Ensure daily production reconciliations are done & balanced.
Ensure good survey practices are maintained – liaise with the appointed Surveyor.
Ensure good and effective quarrying practices & methodologies – in consultation with appointed Rock Engineer.
Ensure monthly planning is done properly & timeously.
Ensure contractors perform according to contractual requirements.
Ensure proper relationship with all regulatory bodies i.e., DMR, Water Affairs, Municipality and SAPS.
Ensure good relationships with Consulting specialists – Rock Engineer, Occupational hygienist.
Ensure proper working relationships between staff exists.
Ensure Community relationships are established and maintained.
Ensure sampling procedure is always followed & results are communicated to Head Office within 24 hours of receipt thereof.

Extensive knowledge in MHSA, OHSA, COIDA.
Project management skills.
Conflict handling & negotiation skills.
Strategic thinking & planning.
Interpersonal relations.
Good oral & written communication skills.
Time management.
Excellent Excel skills.

Medically fit & pass a medical Examination as required from the designated mine.
