Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Credit Controller to join a dynamic finance team in ____ , responsible for managing the Debtors’ book, optimising cash flow, and maintaining strong customer account performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure timeous collection of the Debtors’ book to optimise cash flow.
- Maintain overdue accounts within acceptable levels.
- Perform daily customer reconciliations and resolve account queries promptly.
- Ensure correct allocation of payments and accurate processing of receipts.
- Prepare payment reports, remittances, and proof of payments.
- Issue and manage letters of demand and arrange repayment schedules where required.
- Monitor overdue accounts and escalate concerns to management.
- Ensure compliance with Debtors’ SOPs, financial controls, and company policies.
- Capture and maintain accurate customer records on Syspro and related systems.
- Process and review credit applications prior to submission for approval.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and month-end reports for management and auditors.
- Maintain professional communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Respond to all customer and branch queries within 24 hours.
Requirements:
- BCom (Accounting) or other relevant degree (NQF Level 7).
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar Credit Control role.
- Formal accounting or accounts receivable experience.
- Strong mathematical and accounting skills.
- In-depth knowledge of financial record-keeping principles and GL reconciliations.
- Understanding of debtors’ processes and credit control procedures.
- Syspro experience (advantageous).
- Strong analytical, reporting, and risk management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Clear criminal record.
