Job Summary
Our client based in Johannesburg is looking to appoint a Senior Sales Representative.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field will be advantageous.
- Proven track record of success in sales, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Corrugated packaging Industry.
- Strong understanding of sales techniques, strategies, and principles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Additional certifications or training in sales management or related areas are a plus.
Job Requirements:
- Achieves maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company’s products and/or related services.
- Personally, contacts and secures new business accounts/customers.
- Promotes/sells/secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
- Sign in and out of time sheet at the office each day.
- Demonstrates company’s products and services to existing/potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
- Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products/services.
- Makes telephone calls in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
- Keep records of weekly action plans, daily travel log sheets, weekly key client reports, complete customer profiles and any documents requested from the office.
- Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
- Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints as well as achieves company-set monthly targets and profit margin.
- Coordinates sales efforts with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
- Analyses the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers to the organization.
- Creates and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profiles, and value opportunities.
- Identifies advantages and compares the organization’s products/services.
- Plans and organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the return on time investment for the territory/segment.
- Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Keeps abreast of product applications, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with the sales manager.
