Key areas of responsibility:
- Commercial and competition secretarial experience
- Amendments to complex documents (track changes, cross-referencing, footnotes, comments, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Annotating, highlighting, redacting, collating, and compressing large sets of PDF documents
- Preparing, organizing, and arranging physical and electronic document records (merger filings, document discoveries, briefs to counsel, trial bundles, regulatory submissions, RFQs, etc.)
- Retrieving legal texts from electronic databases for inclusion in documents
- Dictaphone and copy-typing of documents
- Preparing resource and client files
- Administering and organizing legal practice
- Preparing accounts for clients, posting time daily, monitoring payments to counsel, outstanding debtors, and trust balances
- Developing and maintaining electronic and physical filing systems and ensuring they are up to date
- General ADHOC PA duties for directors, including personal work
Requirements:
- 4-5 years experience as a legal secretary
- Excellent knowledge and technical skills with MS Word programs (specifically MS Word 2010), MS Excel essential, and PowerPoint essential
- Knowledge of Aderant Expert (CMS) accounting system
- Knowledge of iManage
- Matric essential
