Job Title: Agile Project Manager
Job Summary: As an Agile Project Manager, you will lead and facilitate Agile software development.
projects, ensuring successful delivery of high-quality products within specified timelines and
budgets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, designers,
and business stakeholders, to drive collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement. Your
role involves applying Agile principles and methodologies to manage project scope, prioritize work,
and adapt to changing requirements, ultimately delivering value to customers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope,
objectives, and deliverables. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and oversee
project execution using Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
2. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional Agile teams, including developers,
testers, designers, and business analysts. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team
culture, and empower team members to take ownership of their work.
3. Sprint Planning: Facilitate sprint planning meetings to define sprint goals, scope, and user
stories. Work with the team to estimate effort, prioritize backlog items, and create
achievable sprint goals that align with project objectives.
4. Backlog Management: Manage the product backlog, including grooming, prioritization, and
refinement of user stories. Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to ensure that
backlog items are well-defined, actionable, and aligned with business priorities.
5. Daily Stand-ups: Conduct daily stand-up meetings to monitor project progress, identify
impediments, and promote transparency. Facilitate discussions and help the team resolve
issues and blockers in a timely manner.
6. Sprint Review and Retrospective: Organize sprint review meetings to demonstrate
completed work to stakeholders and gather feedback. Facilitate sprint retrospective
meetings to reflect on team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement
action items to enhance team effectiveness.
7. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to provide
updates on project status, progress, and risks. Manage stakeholder expectations and
address any concerns or issues in a timely and proactive manner.
8. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues throughout the
project lifecycle. Work with the team to develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency
plans to minimize project disruptions.
9. Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key project metrics, such as velocity, burndown
charts, and cycle time. Generate project reports and dashboards to provide visibility into
project progress and performance.
10. Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Agile
team. Encourage experimentation, innovation, and learning, and facilitate retrospectives to
identify and implement process improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related
field; PMP or Agile certification preferred.
• Proven experience as a Project Manager leading Agile software development projects, with
at least 3-5 years of experience in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, with hands-on experience in Agile
project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Asana.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate
cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex
technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to adapt to changing
requirements and navigate ambiguity.
• Experience with software development practices, including requirements analysis, design,
development, testing, and deployment.
• Familiarity with Agile engineering practices such as test-driven development (TDD),
continuous integration (CI), and continuous delivery (CD).
• Knowledge of project management frameworks and methodologies, such as PMBOK,
PRINCE2, or Lean Six Sigma, is a plus.
