A game changer Company that is in the sporting accessory manufacturing industry is seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join their team. As the Graphic Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating visually appealing and innovative designs for clients and brands across the world. Your designs will be a key element in representing brands and their identity and driving customer engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong eye for detail, a passion for fashion and design trends, and the ability to translate ideas into compelling visual concepts.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conceptualise and Design:
- Collaborate with the design team and other employers to develop and execute original design concepts
- Create visually striking graphics, illustrations, and artworks that align with the company’s brand guidelines and design standards.
Trend Research:
- Stay up-to-date with current fashion trends, design styles, and industry developments to ensure that the company’s designs are relevant and competitive.
- Research and gather inspiration from various sources to bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table.
Branding and Identity:
- Ensure consistency and cohesiveness across all designs to reinforce the Brand identity and message.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to design branding elements for packaging, labels, and promotional materials.
Design Adaptation:
- Adapt and modify existing designs to suit different apparel styles, colours, and sizes while maintaining their visual integrity.
- Work closely with the product development team to ensure accurate translation of designs to the final products.
Product Mock-ups and Presentations:
- Create product mock-ups and visual presentations to showcase designs to internal teams and clients.
- Provide design rationale and articulate the creative process behind each design.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and sales, to meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Communicate design ideas and project progress clearly and concisely.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of all design deliverables, adhering to production specifications and requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Qualification in Visual Communication or a related field would be beneficial
- Proven working or freelance experience as a Graphic Designer, preferably in the fashion or apparel industry
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and colour theory.
- Ability to create original, eye-catching, and brand-aligned designs.
- Experience in creating product mock-ups, print files and visual presentations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate design concepts and ideas.
- Able to communicate in English and Afrikaans
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Have own transport to and from work
- Willing to work overtime if necessary
