Our client in the Employee Benefits and Funding industry is looking for a Fund Accountant to join their team!
Requirements:
- BCom Accounting/ BAcc degree
- Completed SAICA articles
- Employee benefits / funding exposure during articles would be beneficial
- Computer literate
- Self-starter
- Deadline driven
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the below:
1. Processing and balancing of cashbooks
- Allocating payments to the correct accounts on Everest
- Journalising expenses
2. Bank account reconciliations
- Importing of bank statements and linking items to the cashbook
- Report to Data on all unlinked and outstanding items
3. Banking
- Authorising all amounts for payment
- Processing of payments
4. Benefits payable
- Report to Benefits of all payments that need to be paid
5. Pay away investments
- Drawing the daily Global Parents payable Report and communicating it to the data team
- Pay all investments and reconciling it to Everest before it gets paid
- Report on a daily base to data team of all outstanding (to be reviewed)
- Updating unit prices
6. Home loan defaulters
- Issue quotes for defaulters on request from administrators
- Update and report on home loan defaulters
7. Audits
- Ensure that all queries from auditors are attended to
- Preparation of audit files completed 2 months after year end
- Drawing up working papers and obtaining the relevant information for audit purposes.
- Drafting of annual financial statements
- Submitting of signed financials before FSB deadline
8. Liaison work with in-house and third parties
- Liaise with Benefits and Data team members regarding queries
- Liaised with Front Office regarding queries
- Attend finance meetings as and when invited
- Liaise with other 3rd party vendors
9. Fund annual budget
- Complete annual budget for review by the Finance Committee and Board members
