Job Summary
Purpose of the job
- To manage the Quality department.
- To ensure that all product and processes are in accordance with Quality Standards and Customer specific requirements.
- To monitor and control Quality Systems and Processes to achieve Quality Standards and meet customer specific requirements (CSR’s).
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- National Diploma Quality Management or Engineering related qualification
- Trained Auditor ISO 9001;2015; IATF 16949:2016 & VDA 6.3:2016
- Minimum 5 Years in a similar role within an Automotive/Manufacturing experience Skills:
- MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Demonstrate an understanding of ISO/IATF and OEM Standards
- Demonstrate an understanding of Problem-Solving Technique
Quality Management:
- Conduct Quality investigations (Internal, Supplier, Customers)
- Maintain IATF 16949:2016 Certification
Quality Assurance:
- Maintain the Quality Assurance system
Audits:
- Conduct internal 1st party Process audits (VDA 6.3:2016), System Audits (IATF), Supplier Audits, Product / Dock audits
Supply Quality Assurance (SQA):
- Interact with all suppliers
- Supplier Audits
- Approvals of all PSW/PPAP/ISIR for new projects / products / items
Customer Relations (External and Internal):
- Interact with internal and external customers regarding quality issues
- Investigate internal production, project and customer laboratory test failures
Quality Control:
- Investigate all Quality non-conformances and track corrective actions (Initiate, follow up and close)
- Make decisions on quarantined products (Pass, Reject or Rework)
- Manage and maintain the Quality Management System ensuring that it complies with all applicable requirements contained in IATF 16949:2016 and VDA 6.3
- Achieve Quality Assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements and implementing change
- Communicate and liaise with internal and external customers and foster relationship thereof
- Support the quality production inspectors to make product related decisions as to the disposition of quarantined products (Pass, Reject or Rework)
- Review, update and approve Flow Charts, Control Plans and FMEA’s
- Responsible for facilitating Measurement System Analysis and Capability Studies on all measuring equipment (CPK, CMK)
- Responsible for Supplier Development in liaison with Stores Controller and Manufacturing Practitioner
- Maintain & improve product quality by completing product, process, system, compliance and surveillance audits & investigating customer complaints.
- Compile Monthly Management Quality Reports
- Compile weekly yields reports
- Approve COC’s
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP):
- Review Quality Risks of APQP activities
- Ensure compliance to process and Customer Specifications
- Complete Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for all customers
- Provide input to the Contract Review Process
