Job Summary
Purpose of the Role:
The Maintenance and Repair Manager performs a variety of quality checks relating to the repair of terminals. The overall purpose is to ensure that repairs to all terminals, printers, scanners, screens and other electronic equipment have been completed. Where first level support cannot be achieved and repairs cannot be undertaken successfully, these are then escalated to the Maintenance and Repair Manager for repairs
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Repairs and Maintenance
- Maintain and manage the day to day operations of the Repair Centre to ensure it is always clean and static-free
- Manage the Repair Technicians by guiding and coordinating their activities to ensure a quick (48 hour) turnaround time on all equipment
- Serve as an escalation point for the repairing of all terminals, printers, scanners, screens and other electronic equipment that cannot be repaired at Technician level
- Manage the team to meet and exceed daily target
- Maintain and manage the day to day operations of the Repair Centre to ensure it is always clean and static-free
- Manage the Repair Technicians by guiding and coordinating their activities to ensure a quick (48 hour) turnaround time on all equipment
- Serve as an escalation point for the repairing of all terminals, printers, scanners, screens and other electronic equipment that cannot be repaired at Technician level
- Manage the team to meet and exceed daily target of units to be repaired per day
- Ensure minimum spares are available to repair equipment
- Timeously attend to all parts requirements submitted by the repair technicians
- Manage operations:
- Ensure that outstanding repairs due to parts are escalated
- Ensure that outstanding repairs are processed
- Strictly follow and adhere to repairs and logistics process flows and parts recycle process
- Bin all repaired items and liaise with the LFFS and Fleet Manager on the binning of repaired terminals
- Monitor and take control of repair centre tools and ensure test jig is operational at all times
- Replenish all cleaning equipment and monitor the test jigs and software
- Follow escalation process
- Comply with all company Health and Safety policies
Management of Repair Centre Activities
- Liaise with National Sales Manager and LFFS and Fleet Manager to ensure all broken, damaged and non-functional equipment is shipped to head office
- Ensure that all repaired terminals are moved to Logistics for distribution
Quality Assurance
- Ensure 0% repair returns. Quality assurance - proper testing of all units to be booked out
Record-Keeping and Reporting
- Maintenance of daily statistics
- Submit Repair Centre daily reports
- Maintain logistics asset list
- Record all incoming and outgoing terminals
Knowledge and Experience:
- 6 years experience in technical repairs
- 3 years in an electronics repair environment
- 3 years providing electronic technician support
- Technical maintenance and repairs of electronic and mechanical equipment
- Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and outlook
