Hotel Commis Chef

Must Live in the Hermanus area as this is a Live Out position
The position of Commis Chef - has become available. The purpose of this position is to assist the chef in all allocated tasks and to gain experience.
Minimum Experience and Qualification Required:
A Matric qualification
Experience in a five-star property is advantages
Must be hard working and dedicated
Must be motivated, enthusiastic and energetic
Must be a team player, with a positive attitude
Must be willing to work shifts
Must be able to work under pressure
Key Performance Objectives:
Responsible for the preparation and service of all menu items delegated to you.
Carrying out any duties delegated to you in a professional manner and to the best of your abilities.
Ensure the section you are working on is thoroughly set up for daily service e.g. Kitchen equipment, utensils, bain-marie etc.
Cleaning of fridge’s and areas used for food and equipment storage.
Liaising with C.D.P/ Sous chef/ Head chef as to what food items need to be ordered daily
Ensuring all food items – meat, vegetables, starches and sauces etc. are correctly stored, portioned and prepared to the highest standard possible,
At the beginning of a shift all produce must be checked so that there is enough for the service ahead and of the highest quality,
