Job details SalaryR5 000 a month Job Type 12 Months contract Full Job Description Assistant Chef and Barista Job Description We are searching for an engaging, Assistant Chef and Barista who is passionate about food. This position assists the Head Chef in coordinating and managing the running of the Café kitchen, with the aim of maintaining the highest standard possible and achieving maximum customer satisfaction. The Assistant Chef assists with all tasks necessary to ensure that kitchen operations run smoothly. Preparing food ingredients for day at the beginning of the shift Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specification and packaged at the correct quality, portion, size, and temperature and ensure proper presentation and garnishing of food Ensure innovative use of ingredients and equipment to optimize presentation of all meals Preparing high-quality meals making coffee using coffee machines latte art Packaging meals accordingly Assisting with Cleaning the kitchen at the end of the workday Maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness Cleaning workstations before and after preparation Ensuring that food safety guidelines are adhered to Must be able to work quickly while under pressure Assist other kitchen staff as need arises Perform task as communicated by the head chef Personal attributes & skills Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to cope under pressure Ability to pay attention to detail
