Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic, target driven Sales Rep for the Durban area.
Your primary role is delivering on our aggressive revenue, volume and margin targets. You will lead from the front and get heavily involved in selling our basket of products within the different categories, develop your own pipeline of opportunities, oversee activities of the customers, and monitor performance as a whole.
You will close new business, define and meet your KPI’s targets regularly, and analyse consumer and market behaviour patterns. Subsequently, you will define data-driven action strategies and processes to optimize the business's commercial performance consistently.
This role requires commercial acumen, industry knowledge and a deep understanding of the customer base both new customers as well as existing customers, the competitive market, and an ability to analyse sales performance per customer and product. In addition, the Customer manager role is an integral part of the business in that it also involves collaborations with numerous internal departments.
You will identify new international opportunities, understand prospects' needs, and close and sign new export customers, navigating credit risk and close deals to reach our ambitious growth targets.
We are looking for a born leader who's been there and done it and who relishes getting hands-on. You'll need to be a multi-tasker, a rapid thinker, and a seasoned salesperson who can make things happen all of the time in an extremely difficult market. Requirements:
- 5+ years Sales experience
- FMCG experience
- Exceptional communication skills that are especially important in enabling effective communication between his interactions with external partners and customers
- A self-starter, keen, ambitious, and hungry to get results. Relentless and experienced in reaching out to leads and generating sales
- A proactive nature - an ability to take the initiative and get things done, making your own decisions about which opportunities to focus on
- Excellent verbal, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong commercial acumen; able to understand the needs of a customer and design a solution that works for all parties
- Good presentation skills and advances in excel, word and PowerPoint

Responsibilities:
- Deliver on aggressive revenue, volume and margin targets
- Develop, close, and grow key accounts, building lasting relationships with key stakeholders
- Manage the end-to-end sales function of customers including projects and marketing activities
- Examining growth opportunities, enabling sales improvements, product mix development, and taking responsibility for the sectors performance against targets
- Implementing the business sales strategies that drive revenue and margin generation for the business
- Analysing sales performance to report sales strategy successes, weaknesses, and opportunities to head of sales and export manager
- Managing key relationships on behalf of the business with external partners, attending sales workshops, hosting sales events for the business's product, playing an active role in industry and leading with customer and competitor feedback.
- Responsible for building a robust sales pipeline
- Ongoing new business development while protecting core business
- Open new international territories
- Manage and present customer reviews to customers and management. Ensure gaps are identified and addressed
- Ensure rebates and terms are signed off by internal management on an annual basis.
- Manage contract negotiations and contracts performance
- Identify and implement customer focused solutions within the channel and align to business strategy
- Provide excellent customer services at all times
- Assist in handling all customer complaints/ queries within 24 hours
- All customers on they call cycle must be called upon
- Reactivate dormant customers
- Keep customers sales records up to date
