Overview
An established company is recruiting for a Automation Sales Engineer whom will collaborate with the Sales Director in establishing and recommending the most realistic sales goals for the Company. The Automation Sales Engineer will manage an assigned sales area to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives. The Automation Sales Engineer will provide Customers with technical and commercial support/information on suitable products relating to their specific needs and requirements. A travel allowance (with mobile allowance) will be granted for visiting Customers for pre & post-sales support. The Automation Sales Engineer will be maintaining customer relations and searching for new Customers. The Automation Sales Engineer would potentially travel to the company’s offices for product training (valid passport is required) to maintain market & product knowledge. The Automation Sales Engineer is required to actively participate in meetings e.g., Industry technology Presentations
Minimum Requirements:
Valid passport
The Automation Sales Engineer should have a South African approved Matric
Degree or S4 in Electronics.
Should have an understanding in Marketing.
Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales Target.
Knowledge on Explosion Protection technology (OR) should have working knowledge on the EX-customer segment, End users, EPCs etc.
Strong sales closing skills. Prior attendance at formal sales training courses is a plus.
Proven oral, written, telephone and presentation skills.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn and retain product specific information and utilize to position the features and benefits to customers.

Will be an added advantage if any certification related to sales and marketing
A minimum of 4+ years technical sales in process control instrumentation in the key Industries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for regional sales financial objectives by effective forecasting & achieving targets.
Preparing an annual sales budget with the SM and/or MD
Preparing an annual product budget with SM and/or MD
Required to hit or exceed set out monthly or quarterly sales targets.
Good knowledge of electro- and Automation technologies with experience in Hazardous Areas, Control Systems, System Integration, with key Product experience in the following:
Remote I/O.
Safety/Isolating Barriers.
Fieldbus Technology.
Operating and Monitoring systems (HMI).
Cameras.
Wireless technology.
Record the sales opportunities in CRM and work towards conversion to orders and try to achieve a hit rate as per corporate policy.
Building and maintaining relationships with key Customers; EPCs, End-users, OEMs etc. and identifying new customer opportunities.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
Responsible for regional sales financial objectives by effective forecasting & achieving targets.
Preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Evaluate market trends and gather competitive information.
Identify trends that effect current and future growth of regional sales and profitability and disseminate information to Head Sales.
Coordination of Effective business presentation with all customers.
EMS - Awareness and participating in EMS Programs / Initiatives by adhering to the instructions / operation control procedures.
Valid Code 8 driver’s License and a road worthy Vehicle.
