Our client, a leading renewable energy O&M (Operations and Maintenance) seeks to employ a tenacious, energetic, and organized leader for a position at one of their utility power plants in the Northern Cape.

This role is geared toward a strong leader, a disciplined and electrically competent professional, who ideally has experience in managing maintenance, site operations, and staff/sub-contractors on a PV Solar utility power plant site. This is a permanent role and relocation to Prieska, Northern Cape will be required.

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:

• You will have completed a National Diploma or similar qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or Mechatronics, coupled with 5-8 years management experience, managing teams of technicians and field support staff, specifically in electrical installations and maintenance up to 132KV, as well as substation protection and SCADA based networks
• A strong understanding of PV Solar Utility Plant maintenance and maintenance process management is required
• You will have advanced management ability, with respect to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of a power/utility plant, as well as strong leadership to manage a diverse team of technical and support staff.
• You will have an elevated level of understanding and practical working experience in creating switching orders, as well as monitoring and managing the quality of work, HSE and process of High Voltage switching.
• You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, being able to liaise effectively at all levels, including maintaining relations with sub-contractors, attending to management meeting reporting and ensuring financial and risk controls are in place and adhered to.
• You will be a mentor to staff, provide training to technicians and ensure that performance is optimum at all times.
• Your will have solid administrative skills and preferably be fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
