CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The purpose of the job is to take responsibility for the financial health of the department by introducing, applying and renewing risk based financial and business strategies/models that will safeguard the financial and other assets under the control of student housing. Provide support and guidance to senior management on the development of short to long term sustainability models for student residences.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Strategic financial planning
• Risk management
• Budgets & Budget Control
• Financial reporting
• Oversee financial management in all areas of Student Housing, including accredited off campus accommodations
• Management of contracts and Student Housing Assets
• Effective management of accredited off campus accommodation operations and finances

REQUIREMENTS

1. At least five (5) years’ experience in accounting and accounting principles sufficient to prepare complex and detailed financial and budgetary analyses.
2. Previous experience in working in a computerised accounting environment.
3. Previous experience in producing information for financial reporting purposes
4. At least 3 years supervisory experience
5. A B Com with financial accounting as a major or equivalent qualification
