Job Summary
Absolutely Essential Requirements:
- Legal degree or CIS absolutely essential
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Computer literate.
- Top class and intimate knowledge of the King™ Code and Companies Act.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing weekly technical information and guidance to members.
- Producing best practice guides
- Developing monthly technical newsletters containing relevant media articles.
- Organising webinars and seminars on relevant topics of interest to members and students.
- Responding to in house training requests by corporates..
- Providing advice to various board committees
- Monitoring corporate governance-related news through the media.
- Responding to technical enquiries from members.
- Writing legal articles for magazines and the media.
- Keeping abreast of developments in the corporate governance field in order to keep the Institute informed.
- Drafting submissions on legislation and corporate governance matters to regulatory bodies.
- Drafting contracts and committee terms of reference.
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to build and maintain relations with internal and external clients.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work with detail, accuracy and on multiple tasks in a pressurised environment.
- Analytical and logical, good project management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Excellent comprehension skills.
