Job Summary

The main function of this position is to lead the South African team and look after all operations from procurement to shipping, the planning, procuring (primarily Citrus, Pears and Apples), managing and control of all logistics activities related to the worldwide export and procurement of fruit

Minimum requirements:

A minimum of 8 years’ experience in fresh produce exports logistics in a management role
A tertiary degree, Horticulture, Master’s degree in Logistics, Maritime studies or MBA / Bsc Agri or other
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans
Proven working relationship with growers, packhouses and service providers
Above average computer literacy and knowledge on supply chain systems
Excellent attention to detail
Strong strategic and leadership skills
Strong persuasive, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong business acumen and financial management skills
An achievement orientated individual with strong negotiation skills
Ability to exercise resilience when facing challenges
The development of sustainable strategies that support the Company’s core function in the worldwide export of fruit
Implementation of various supply chain strategies that support the export function
The appointment and management of service providers in the supply chain
Management of the Logistics team
