SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT The incumbent will be a mid-level professional who oversees the company’s accounting department and takes ownership for every aspect that goes into producing an organization's report, from cost-productivity and margins all the way down to expenditures. Preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, preparing month-end close procedures and performing other accounting duties as assigned. Main Tasks:
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Provide technical support and advice to the team
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Manage Accounting Assistants and Accountants
Review journal entries of accountants to ensure accuracy
Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
Provide input into department’s goal setting process
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
Assist with tax audits and tax returns
Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
Plan, assign and review staff’s work
Train and mentor junior staff
Support month-end and year-end close process
Complete external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Ensures the integrity of accounting information
Maintains accurate monthly management accounts
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
Liaise with the Financial Manager to improve financial procedures

Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables

Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
Education Requirements
More than three years of general accounting experience, either in a public accounting firm or in a private corporate environment
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, math, business administration, or a related field
Chartered Account CA(SA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, would be an advantage.
