Must have a tertiary qualification in Agriculture/Food Science/Business Management or related field
Minimum 4 years sales experience in the agricultural and/or animal industries is essential
Must have a valid driver’s license, own car and be willing to travel extensively to clients
Above-average communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, including farmers, will be required
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Identifying new customers, and developing and promoting sales by presenting the range of products available.
Offering prompt, effective technical support to customers according to a call plan.
Maintaining existing business and developing new markets.
Resolving customer queries or complaints.
Promoting new products to both existing and potential customers.
Managing product trials as required by customers.
Compiling and submitting detailed monthly reports to the Sales Manager.
Achieving budgeted sales and margins as defined annually.
Obtaining, recording and updating detailed information on the usage of products by customers.
Ensuring that updated prices are communicated to customers.
Reporting on market and competitor activity to the Sales Manager in accordance with the company’s Reporting Procedure.
