Job Summary

Minimum requirements for the role:

Must have an MSc Animal Science degree (or years of experience equivalent to qualify for Pr. Sci. Nat)
Must be a registered Nutritionist, per SAHA law and SACNASP regulations
Minimum of 4 years work experience as a Nutritionist, specifically in feed formulation will be required
A solid understanding of animal feed and nutrition is essential
Be in possession of a valid driver’s license, have own reliable transport and be medically fit to drive

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Formulating diets and rations to maximize growth, reproduction, health and performance.
Providing technical assistance to clients.
Assessing the relative nutritional and economic value of feed systems.
Loading and reviewing specifications of clients on portal and approve.
Providing technical support and responses to Account Managers and clients where required.
Creating and loading premixes onto the Animal Health admin portal.
Performing final approvals of premixes.
Assisting customers and Account Managers with technical queries on the Admin portal.
Assisting with the maintenance and updating of the Admin portal.
Assisting with reworks, recalls as well as expired stock as required by the Business Unit Manager.
Approving replacements for the factory.
Communicating with Quality Control regarding approvals of raw materials and quality thereof for use in the factory subsequent to procurement.
Monitoring activities under the incumbent’s control with the aim of improving overall productivity.
Possessing the ability to solve problems systematically.
Appreciating the importance of customer satisfaction and responding to this accordingly.
