Must have a degree in Accounting/Business Administration/ Business Management or related field
Extensive experience in the agricultural chemical industry in the same or similar position will be required
Previous experience in the management of subordinates is essential and Supply Chain management experience would be advantageous
Knowledge of .NET would be advantageous
Must have a working knowledge of Syspro/SAP
Budgeting and cost control/management skills are required
Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license, have own reliable transport and be medically fit to drive
Knowledge of SHEQ Management Systems (ISO) and relevant standards/requirements is important
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Building long-term relationships with suppliers in the industry.
Leading transformational activities to build procurement organizational capabilities and improve procurement efficiency.
Creating and implementing procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within the industry.
Collaborating with Regional Managers, Crop Advisors and/or Management in respect of supplier negotiations and product decisions and selection.
Liaising with the China office in sourcing and placing orders for raw materials and finished goods.
Developing strategic plans to encourage business growth using analytics to create action plans based on data and statistics.
Comparing proposals for price and specifications.
Negotiating with suppliers to optimise costs.
Obtaining and reviewing supplier contracts on behalf of the company.
Communicating with suppliers to ensure that the products and raw materials arrive in a timely manner.
Assisting with management systems that track the shipment, inventory and supply of products and raw materials.
Performing analysis of purchasing data to review trends.
Ensuring adherence to all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
Obtaining market intelligence and keep abreast of changing industry trends.
Developing pricing structures to Crop Advisors, tenders and other customers.
Managing and overseeing price lists for all stakeholders.
Assisting with and providing support to the forecasting & budgeting process.
Executing on sales and operations plans.
Managing company inventory levels and Supplier payment terms.
Recommending the addition of supply sources for registration purposes.
Assisting with Material Requirements Planning and forecasting to facilitate production planning.
Monitoring fluctuations of relevant foreign exchange currencies.
Monitoring the management of aged and aging stock on a regular basis.
Providing input in the development of sales, crop and technical strategies.
Communicating with Sales and Logistics on product availability.
Performing margin management for the in-house range of products.
Ensuring in-house products are promoted.
Negotiating Supplier Rebate agreements.
Overseeing and recommending .Net module developments.
Participating in internal and external audits.
