Must have a tertiary education (preferably a post-graduate degree) in Agriculture, Marketing or Business Management
Significant background and/or education in crop agronomy or related field will be required
Sound understanding of the seed industry, crop protection, seed treatment, and on the farm activities is important for this role
Minimum 5 years of experience working in marketing and business management as well as experience in the application of crop agronomics and technologies and their contribution to the financial drivers of a grower's business will be required
Demonstrated capability in agronomy excellence and applying capabilities to support commercial operations
Must understand long term technical concept positioning whilst being able to deliver upon short term campaign imperatives
General Marketing practices and dynamics including Digital marketing are important
Must have strong project management skills
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing, coordinating and implementing marketing strategies within the seed treatment portfolio on existing products and new product introductions in line with the RSA strategy.
Designing digital strategy as well as digital tools to support the RSA portfolio ambition.
Managing commercial product life-cycle of products in portfolio and ensuring portfolio positioning is in line with the business unit strategy.
Working closely with the South African Business Area functions (Marketing, CPD, Sales, P&S and Finance) to ensure smooth cross-functional alignment on operations (campaigns, project planner, customer events, supply planning, pricing).
Developing and deploying a viable product portfolio strategy.
Contributing as an active member in the Marketing team with dotted line reporting to Marketing Head to ensure alignment between AME and ZA BU ambitions.
Designing targeted marketing campaigns to create grower pull/awareness for seed treatment offers.
Liaising with ZA BU Marketing team, marketing services and external agencies in relation to content generation and execution.
Translating offers to customer (channel, growers, seed companies) needs and detail, including delivery plan, pricing and commercial offers.
Developing and positioning the relevant product portfolio within a dynamic landscape, leading portfolio meetings to define and manage new projects and ensuring successful implementation.
Shaping the Digital strategy (virtual pack offers, customer interactions & trainings, webinars, app, internet & social media).
Measuring campaign & strategy effectiveness with post-campaign surveys & reviews with all relevant stakeholders.
Supporting the product strategy with competitor and market intelligence through relationships with stakeholders and market surveys.
