Job Summary
A leading FMCG company is looking for an experienced Dispatch Controller with strong experience in dispatch planning, vehicle coordination, and delivery tracking to join their team in Brackenfell. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimising the dispatch operations that support both manufacturing and distribution of pet-related products to retail and specialist outlets across South Africa. Responsibilities:
Coordinate daily dispatch schedules ensuring timely delivery of goods from the manufacturing and distribution centres.
Assign vehicles and drivers efficiently with consideration for load, route optimisation, and service priorities.
Monitor delivery progress; address delays or deviations proactively.
Communicate with production, warehouse, transport, and customer service teams to align operations.
Ensure all dispatch documentation is accurate (orders, PODs, invoices, etc.).
Enforce safety and compliance standards for vehicles, drivers, and goods.
Track performance metrics such as on-time deliveries, vehicle utilisation, and customer satisfaction.
Identify process improvements to reduce costs, improve turnaround times, and enhance reliability.
Requirements:
Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in dispatch control, transport operations, or similar roles.
Strong route planning, fleet allocation, and scheduling skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with dispatch tracking systems advantageous.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
Experience in the pet products or FMCG distribution environment is a plus.
