Large and well-established group in the agriculture sector is on the lookout for a motivated and experienced Financial Manager. This group has interests across the country and this role will be situated in the Cape Winelands.

The ideal candidate will be CA(SA), AGA(SA) or CIMA qualified and have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role. Commercial or article exposure within the agriculture, citrus, processing or production environment will be highly beneficial.

This group comprises of a number of entities and joint ventures that successfully contribute to agricultural development in South Africa through the production and export of citrus products. The group is involved in activities from the start of the value chain (farming and packing) up until the final step (export). This allows for control and reliability of the internal operations of the companies, and it also increases the synergies within the network. Involved at each point in the supply chain, this group has developed and specialised in input aggregation, pack-houses, cold storage and marketing and has continued to grow from strength to strength over the years.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation, review and analysis of monthly management accounts.
• Preparation of the profit and loss for business units.
• Preparation of monthly and yearly and budgets and forecasts.
• Comparison of Actual vs Budget vs Forecast.
• Monthly preparation of the cash flow forecast.
• Preparation of a 12-month cash flow forecast.
• Monitor and control the use of assets and resources within the business.
• Update standard operating procedures on a continual basis.
• Update and monitor all internal control procedures.
• Preparation of the monthly financial statistics.
• Maintenance of the general ledger and assist with month-end closure of the general ledger and other required reconciliations.
• Participate in projects and project accounting.
• Perform and report on feasibility studies.
• Update IT improvement projects where required.
• Review and submission of statutory reports.
• Reports of financial information to be generated as required.
• Companies Act compliance and other legislative and regulatory standards as required.
• Ad hoc duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• CA(SA), AGA(SA) or CIMA qualification.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar.
• Completed SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA articles preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience.
• Expert/ Advanced MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Agriculture of Citrus experience highly beneficial.

Remuneration:

• R480,000 to R660,000 per annum, negotiable on experience and qualifications.
