Responsibilities:

Responsible for cost reduction and supplier performance KPI's.
Managing, develop and support the team during RFQ/Contract negotiations.
Stakeholder relationship management, both internal and external.
Support and lead on complex negotiation with suppliers.
Proactively manage projects and perform purchasing tenders and supplier selection.
Monitor supplier performance and contract execution at a strategic level.
Continuously review market developments that affect individual categories.
Manages day-to-day supplier relationship activities.
Executes sourcing projects to deliver YOY savings.
Work with Procurement Manager to establish, develop and review effective supply chain contract and sourcing management processes, while appropriately challenging third party spend arrangements and contracts.
Continuous Improvement – responsible for identifying and driving continuous improvement initiatives that will generate value through increase supplier performance or capabilities.
Placing of duly authorized purchase orders for consumable, maintenance spares and raw materials, controlling all imported material for production.
Arrange import transportation with freight forwarder to ensure goods arrive on-time in the most efficient and effective manner.
Comply with BBBEE requirements in terms of Supplier management.
Good Housekeeping.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

A tertiary qualification field of Purchasing or Logistics (Degree) is compulsory.
At least 5 years buying experience in a manufacturing, indirect procurements, strategic sourcing environment.

Skills Required:

2+ years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and material management systems.
Problem-solving skills.
Experience developing and deploying category strategy.
Excellent interpersonal skills, highly analytical, detail oriented and organized.
