More about this amazing position:

The Buyer will be mainly responsible for selecting and developing new and existing products to grow our various brands.

The day-to-day consists of market research, product sales analysis, order management, managing current suppliers, and finding new local and international suppliers for the development of new products. With the help of the in-house systems and team, the successful candidate will be a huge part of helping the company achieve its mission of bringing the world's most loved products to life.

The successful candidate is excited about this role because he / she will be doing:

• Product selection and development.
• Product procurement – order management and supply chain planning.
• Supplier relationship management and price negotiation.
• Developing product performance analysis reports.
• Coordinating order operations with Finops team.
• Monitoring stock quality.
• Assisting Brand Manager in brand development.

• 2+ years’ experience within the retail industry in a similar role.
• Relevant Bachelor’s Degree.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking – Ability to use data to make informed decisions in a timely manner.
• Strong research skills.
• Creative and strategic.
• Good financial knowledge and understanding.
• Competency in MS Office and / or Google Suite packages including Excel / G-sheets.
• A proactive problem-solver who operates effectively and independently, even in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity.
• Work well under pressure.
• Ability to multitask on a wide variety of projects.
• Strong verbal and written communication ability.
• A vibrant personality.
• Are up to date with the latest e-Commerce trends and strategies.
• Are willing to work in a tight-knit vibrant team.

The Buyer’s KPIs will be:

• Financial metrics.
• Product portfolio sales revenue.
• Product portfolio gross profit (GP).
• Product portfolio gross margin return on investment (GMROI).
• Product return rate.
• Quarterly purchasing budget variance.
• Innovation metrics.
• SkyPool size (new product opportunities).
• SkyPool average UPR (company’s product ratings).
• Product launch time.
• Total new product revenue vs target (6 months).
• Cost of product development per product.

Advantageous:

• Experience in merchandising, purchasing, and procurement.

This is a full-time / permanent position.

Market related salary offered (to be disclosed upon interview).

Area: Killarney Gardens, Cape Town area.
