Job Summary

An opportunity is available for a trade mark and intellectual property attorney to join our commercial department. The candidate must: • have an LLB or similar professional qualification; • be an admitted attorney in South Africa; • have at least two years post articles experience with a trade mark and intellectual property practice. Although not a requirement, it will be an advantage if the candidate has: • his or her own trade mark and/or commercial practice; • a post graduate qualification in trade marks or intellectual property law; • experience in general intellectual property or commercial work, such as license agreements, copyright, designs, advertising. The candidate must be proficient in: • trade mark registrations, administration and renewals; • intellectual property law, and in particular trade mark law; • working independently without any direct daily supervision; • the ability to grow a trade mark and intellectual property practice.
