Job Summary
This national manufacturing company currently seeks an IT Infrastructure Specialist to provide overall technical expertise for the IT Department and manage the hardware and software infrastructure of the division.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Matric.
- National Diploma in Information Technology or relevant current certifications.
- Minimum 5 years expeirence in a similar role.
- Must be familiar with ERP systems (LX system).
Key Performance Areas:
- IT strategy:
- Identify, mitigate and manage IT Risk.
- Provide technical audit responses and solutions for audit compliance.
- IT management:
- Manage group business applications.
- Oversee 3rd party service providers as per SLA’s.
- Provide staff with the tools and skills to effectively support the operation.
- Grow staff through succession planning.
- IT hardware:
- Manage the IT Asset Tracking System.
- Manage the life cycle of the hardware in line with purchase warranty and maintenance agreements.
- Adhere to defacto and group-based standards for hardware and recommend changes where appropriate.
- Ensure maximum uptime and performance through alert notification systems.
- IT softwware:
- Ensure technical compliance for all data in line with the POPI Act.
- Manage all Microsoft based software using Config Manager/SCCM to ensure patching and anti-virus updates are current.
- Ensure Microsoft agreements are understood, and effectively used for maximum value realisation.
- Ensure no illegal software or unlicensed use takes place for all software installed on company assets.
- Protect software and data from breaches in security.
- Desktop (hardware and software)
- Establish Desktop requirements.
- Oversee the installation of high-volume/high-speed computer cabling for server computer system.
- Manage Desktop systems support.
- ERP system (must be familiar with LX system).
- New Developments:
- Liaise with the BU's to identify business requirements for the infrastructure requirements of the ERP system.
- Manage IT projects related to implementation of or changes to the Business Process.
- Ensure all required systems that are implemented and all new systems required for ERP operation are implemented correctly, licensed properly and secured adequately for business use purposes.
- Maintain system integrity, availability and performance (24/7).
- Resolve IT ERP System user's problems through Helpdesk logged requests.
- IT security:
- Develop the necessary policies to ensure security is maintained.
- Administer security systems for the multi-user computer system.
- Educate end-users of IT security risks.
- Safeguard IT facilities (access control and environmental conditions).
- Implement measures to ensure that any attempt at unauthorised access to information or IT system is trapped and reported.
