Job Summary
Qualifications required:
NQF 7 - Bachelors degree or Advanced Diploma in the area of statistics, computer science, engineering or mathematics
Relevant data certifications such as Python, Microsoft ML, AWS, Hadoop, big data, machine learning and cloud infrastructure
Certification in SQL and working with large scale data sets
Project Management qualification or agile certification i.e. Scrum or Prince 2
Experience:
Min. 4 years experience in data science related initiatives or projects
Experience with SQL and working with large scale data sets
Practical experience applying machine learning techniques
Summary:
To model complex organisational problems, discover insights and identify business opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualisation techniques using machine learning and AI
You will be involved in identifying problems, data cleansing, hypothesis generation, testing, model training, deploying and monitoring of predicted outcomes
Some of the responsibilities are listed below.
Assist with research trends in Data Science
Identify expected outcomes of modelling
Assist in developing conceptual designs or models to address business requirements
Identify available and relevant data leveraging collection processes and identify new data collection processes such as social media
Perform pre-processing of data which includes: data manipulation, transformation, normalisation, standardisation and visualisation
Developing algorithms or models
Monitor predicted outcomes
Build, analyse and interpret numerical and non-numerical data
Write programming code based on prepared design
Understanding of data flows, ETL and processing of structured unstructured data within the data architecture
Compliance management and reporting
