Role Description The Group Supply Chain Programme manager has responsibility for the successful delivery of the Strategic GSC Transformation initiative for the company. They are expected to operate at the senior stakeholder level, they will need to manage their senior stakeholders across the organisation. This is a senior-level role and candidates will be expected to take high levels of responsibility for the programme success. The GSC Programme manager is overall:
Accountable for the delivery of the fully integrated GSC Business and technology transformation scope
Accountable for delivery against the Business case within the approved and budget and programme deployment planning
Accountable for defining and setting of approaches for each of the delivery streams
Accountable for overall quality of delivery and integration across Business and Technology streams
Programme governance and control
Programme communication and reporting
Programme management
Financial management
Project and business support
Relevant experience
10+ years’ experience in Programme/Project management with expertise/application in IT project management in various areas of IT
Experienced in project delivery methods and tools including project planning, effort, schedule, and scope control
Experience in business case development – cost and benefits, with sound analytical skills
Strong track record in Portfolio Management
Sound understanding of portfolio and project governance and control
Ability to engage with business leaders at management level, Steering Committee members
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with others within multi-disciplinary teams, promoting healthy relationships and building strong team dynamics
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
Well-developed decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity
A self-starter, who is innovative and intuitive, with the ability to anticipate and interpret complex issues impacting on functional area, and the flexibility to adapt to developing situations and changing environments
Effective planning and prioritization skills, with a high attention to detail
A finisher, who is task oriented, with the ability to efficiently accomplish role responsibilities within a pressurized environment
Experience with procurement, contracting and engaging with IT service providers
Advanced MS Office Skills
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Program manager is responsible for the successful delivery of our strategic GSC programme. They will be expected to lead and drive all aspects of the programme from staffing, budgetary control, and stakeholder management both within the business and technology:
To act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders
To drive successful outcomes for all the programme streams
To be commercially astute when delivering
To act as ambassadors for the programme throughout all engagements
Take full accountability for the successful delivery of the programme
Develop a practical programme delivery plan and deliver closely against it
Manage the staff and resources to ensure optimum outcomes
Manage and mitigate programme and project risks
Both advise and challenge the business and technology throughout the programme
Take full ownership to drive “best practice” in delivering a programme
Develop strong relationships with the senior stakeholders
Manage the re-use and feedback into the company technology organisation to enable constant improvement of our programme delivery
Build a strong personal community within the company by sharing and assisting other programmes
Ensure alignment of this programme with any other impacted or dependent initiatives within the company
This individual will play an integral role in building efficient and collaborative cross-functional planning with functional line stakeholders to achieve effective execution of GSC goals. This is a critical and highly visible role, making a substantial contribution to the company.
Play a critical part in ensuring an integrated solution across both business and technology
Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements if necessary
Evaluate potential problems and technical hitches and drive solutions
Plan and manage team goals, project schedules and new information
Supervise current projects and coordinate all team members to keep delivery on track
Manage programme-related paperwork by ensuring all necessary materials are current, addressing all aspects of delivery within the programme
Direct programme correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails
Communicate with stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives
Adhere to budget by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures where possible
Ensure alignment of the programme to all governance requirements and audits
Manage and monitor compliance and reporting by project managers
Prepare and chair the monthly programme Steering committee
