Your role will be that of main liaison between the company's internal claims operational staff, management, and its brokers, for all claims-related matters of a highly complex technical/legal nature. Working closely with an allocated portfolio of brokers, the Portfolio Relationship Manager will:
Full claims administrative support will be given by the company's claims department, while the core purpose will be to provide technical and legal guidance and insight to both internal staff and brokers on most complex claims matters.
You will be responsible for appointing a claims assessor where necessary, and appointing the appropriate service provider that will replace or repair the items claimed. The Claims Specialist is responsible for the full spectrum of the claims process (from registration to validation of the new claim, until finalization of the repair/ replacement and payment to suppliers).
You will be processing, validation, negotiation and payment of individual broker specific portfolio of both motor and non motor claims for both Personal Lines and Commercial classes of business.
Working closely with an allocated portfolio of brokers, the Portfolio Claims Specialist will trim and coach binder and outsource brokers to make claims validation determinations in line with the company's standard operating procedures within a defined mandate. The Claims Specialist will furthermore action all claims that exceed the Brokers' mandate.
The Portfolio Claims Specialist may furthermore assist with complex and high value claim determinations (for both Motor and Non Motor within both Personal Lines and Commercial classes of business.
The Claims Specialist will process, validate and negotiate all liability claims in line with the Liability SOP and Guidelines as well as work closely with the Portfolio Claims Manager on all litigation matters.
You will be trained to be a Technical Underwriter.
The main purpose of the Claims Specialist’s role is to validate and process short-term insurance liability claims. The Claims Specialist will furthermore provide guidance and advice (legal) on the interpretation of policy wordings, coverage under the respective policies, undertake merit/liability assessments as well as quantification in respect of large and/ or complex claims, deal with litigation and assist with all complaints made to insurance regulatory bodies.
