Job Summary
A distributor of electronic security products requires the services of a skilled and experienced Branch Supervisor for their operation in the Pretoria area
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for keeping an eye on everyday operations for all branch activities, implementing organizational policies and procedures and ensuring
adherence
- Ensure that the branch opens and closes at regular times, ensuring
punctuality of the staff, keeping the Branch Manager informed of any
irregularities in the behaviour and attendance of the staff
- Responsible for ensuring that the branch is neat, clean and presentable and
that all equipment is correctly serviced and maintained on regular intervals to
provide a safe and professional environment
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of personnel, monitors performance of the new recruits post training to identify areas of improvement to enhance organizational productivity
- Maintain appropriate performance tracking and communicate performance
issues to the Branch Manager
- Provide input to formal performance appraisals and recommend or initiate
disciplinary action where necessary
- Provide required training to employees
- Direct work activities to enhance operations, supervise efficient working of all employees and communicate feedback in the meeting of set goals
- Maintain smooth work flow and assist the Branch Manager to achieve all annual
growth objectives
- Take care of the customer service operations and delivery of products / services in a timely and proficient manner
- Directs the activities of the Counter Sales to ensure a high level of customer
service and ensures that visiting customers receive a high level of
cooperation and service
- Maintains efficient counter sales at all times and resolves all customer issues
- Reconcile daily cash sales with cash receipts, writing and balancing daily bank
deposits
- Monitors outstanding cash sales through exception reports and provides
comments/reasons where cash was not received or banked
- Prepare daily cash sales recon and forward it to the accounts department as required
- Assists the Branch Manager in the forecasting of stock levels and ensuring that the branch maintains safety level stock at all times to avoid stock outs
- Regularly monitor excess, slow moving and redundant stock and communicate these to the sales team as well as the Branch Manager
- Monitors all stock transfers and assists the Storeman in maintaining accurate
inventory quantities
- Oversee and supervise stock take to ensure that it is conducted in line with
organizational policies and procedures
- Directs all branch operational activities to support the Branch Manager as
well as the Sales Team to achieve the branch financial targets in order to enhance
branch profitability
- Organizes meetings, events, or client training by arranging for facilities and
caterer, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers, and
controlling event budget
- Manage Branch petty cash and controls expenditures of branch to conform to
budgetary requirements
- Participate in regular meetings and communicate with Department Managers
- Maintains Branch safety programs and activities and ensures that all branch staff adheres to all health & safety regulations
- Ensure satisfactory audit results of branch operations
- Maintain Document Management system and endure relevant documents are uploaded and filed
- Maintain ISO compliance
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Diploma in Business Administration and 3 years experience OR 5 years related Business Administration experience
- Two to three years experience in the security industry
- Sound knowledge of security electronics and equipment is NON NEGOTIABLE
- Computer literate – MS Office, with database experience
- Working knowledge of Syspro or similar ERP software
- Optimiza experience will be an advantage
- Experience of building relationships with customers is essential
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong customer service background and experience
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employees
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills required to manage, motivate and develop branch employees
- Ability to handle confidential /sensitive information in a professional manner
- Ability to manage multi?functional tasks in a pressurized environment, prioritize and multitask
- Valid driver’s license
- Own reliable transport
