Job Summary
PRIME PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To assist the General Manager to facilitate the entire packline process from packing to getting the product to Market and to implement the necessary measures to ensure and maintain the highest quality of the product.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, organise and control production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently within the required standards;
- Implement and control the production schedule;
- Manage staff and resources to meet production requirements;
- Ensure packhouse staff wear/use protective clothing and equipment. Implement corrective and relevant preventative action when necessary;
- Ensure Bin intake, line QC and culling factors are analysed efficiently;
- Handle all functions related to the “Sizer” as well as the packline and other maintenance that is required;
- Analyse production and quality control to detect and correct problems;
- Ensure accurate data is captured in the packhouse tracking system;
- Provide packing reports to Senior Packhouse Manager; and
- Ad hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by Senior Management
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12;
- Supply Chain/Mechanical Qualification (advantageous); and
- Min 3 years Packhouse experience
