MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The main purpose of the job is management reporting, reconciliation, and analysis
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- B Com Degree (Accounting) or similar
- 5 years’ experience in short-term insurance accounting
- Computer Literacy in Excel (Advanced)

KEY FUNCTIONS
- Review of monthly AMS bordereaux reports for submission to Santam
- Preparation of monthly Underwriting Income Statement (per currency) and reconciliation with Santam
- Preparation of monthly Underwriting Income Statement variance analysis against budget and prior year
- Review of monthly Balance Sheet recons (Bank, Debtors, Creditors), ensuring long outstanding items are timeously cleared
- Preparation of quarterly surplus, quota share, and XOL treaty reinsurance accounts (including XOL premium adjustments, rebates, fees, slider, and profit commission adjustments) for submission to Santam
- Preparation of monthly management reports
- Preparation of quarterly Board reports
- Authorisation/release of insurance-related payments
- Review and authorisation of monthly commission run
- Incidental and ad hoc reporting as required by management
- Manage KIT logs
- Contribution to key strategic projects of the group (eg. Niche Finance Shared Services project) as required
