Performing compliance monitoring on sites based on legislation, license conditions and internal controls using a risk-based approach
Evaluating the adequacy of internal controls and amending as needed
Completion of detailed working papers, checklists and reports for all monitoring performed
Follow up on recommendations provided to sites to assess whether the required action has been taken
Knowledge of and continuous analysis of legislation applicable to the gambling and entertainment industry
Researching legislative and operational requirements applicable to the gambling and entertainment industry
Assisting with internal and regulatory body audits conducted on site
Assisting with the development of monitoring procedures, working papers and checklists
Investigations with regards to variances, integrity of reports and other
Assisting with design and implementation of controls to mitigate compliance risk
Technical understanding and knowledge of surveillance systems, various gaming equipment and general systems on site
Drafting and submission of correspondence
Drafting and amending company policies and procedures
Training employees on company policies, procedures and systems, gambling legislation, and various other relevant legislation, all treasury, cash desk and terminal functions, systems, procedures, and policies
Requirements
Grade 12, Degree/Diploma (or studying towards) majoring in audit/compliance an advantage, Audit/Compliance/Casino/Gaming/Training experience
Strong Excel skills preferable, Strong communication and report writing skills
Willing to travel regularly within the province and neighboring provinces, must have own transport
