Job Summary
To manage and maintain the quality assurance system, including all incoming component inspections, production quality verifications, customer quality complaints and quality audits (internal and external). Maintain the Shop floor Quality, Laboratory and testing Facilities.
- Manage the quality department when quality Systems manager is unavailable in the factory
- Report all deviations regarding quality and service standards
- Measure the quality KPI's applicable to both internal and external customers
- Continue to develop and maintain the Shop floor Quality, Laboratory and testing Facilities
- Help drive the continuous improvement processes related to Quality, Systems and Process
- Accurately capture data and report all non conforming parts - cost of poor quality (COPQ) Internal and external
- Maintain daily, weekly & monthly quality records, reports and documentation
- Ensure all Global reporting via the various Customer and Internal Portals, is completed on time
- Ensure all reporting of information on the GQPS and SharePoint systems, is completed on time
- Ensure that all scrap and alerts for supplier claims are done and the necessary NCR's are completed on the GQPS
- Help with Supplier Audits and Issuing of reject reports (NCR's) and follow-up with suppliers until closure
- Issue/Compile 8D reports for suppliers and customers, as may be required, and follow up on actions
- Ensure all Training Plan activities for the Quality Department are arranged and completed, with all necessary feedback/effectiveness reported
- Ensure that all month end reporting is complete on time e.g. Scorecards, Shipments, Alerts and Quality Reports
- Perform and participate in pre audit and quality audits / Visits activities for internal and external auditors
- Maintain Quality control plans and FMEA documents
- Ensure all requirements for IATF 16949, CQC, ISO 14001 & 18001 certification is updated and controlled as and when required
- Manage all Quality procedures, works instruction and forms to ensure any updates are controlled and maintained as required
- Manage the Safety, Health & Environment System, and keep all associated records up to date
- Maintain IATF 16949 system, as well as the internal process audits and ensure compliance with IATF/ISO audit requirements
- Lead customer MB product Audit (DPA), as well as the audit, to ensure that all requirements have been met before each audit
- Help manage reporting staff in the quality department in the absence of the Quality Systems Manager
- Ensure all reporting of PPAP information on the SQMS portal from MBSA systems, is completed on time when nessessary
- Perform and lead quality audits / Visits at local suppliers
- Perform scanning of tank shells for the Laboratory Use Mini-Tab to calculate the capability of the processes Co-ordinate and manage all Engineering changes Co-ordinate and manage all drawings on the PLM system Co-ordinate and manage all MSA analysis Perform any other functions as may be reasonably requested by Management, as required
Minimum requirements:
- Grade 12
- BTech in Quality Management
- Quality related training: IATF 16949 & ISO 14001 / 45001
- Auditing
- Automotive experience essential
